If you go out and about on the streets of Weyburn, Estevan, Carlyle, Radivlle, or Regina, you may well see a Chevrolet Trax or two. However, you won’t see a 2024 Chevrolet Trax yet. And when you eventually do, all it will share with the previous Chevy Trax is the name. The philosophy behind the all-new 2024 Chevrolet Trax is perfectly defined by Chevrolet’s VP, Scott Bell, who says of the new model: “The all-new Trax has everything you need and nothing you don’t.”
It might sound like common sense, but Chevrolet has listened to what shoppers want, analyzed what they buy, and produced an all-new 2024 Trax that delivers what people want and need. It’s evident that SUV styling is incredibly popular, but if you spend all your time driving around the town and city, you don’t need a hardcore, ladder-frame SUV with a four-wheel-drive system that can conquer mountains.
There are five trim levels in the 2024 Chevrolet Trax lineup, and all five are standard front-wheel-drive. The first model in the range is the LS, and the lineup then goes to the 1RS, LT, 2RS, and top-of-the-line ACTIV. None of the five models is available with all-wheel-drive as Chevy has concentrated on delivering the features that urban drivers need and desire.
The 2024 Trax is a stunningly stylish compact crossover that follows the recent Chevrolet design philosophy that’s already proving successful with other models that are already available. The all-new 2024 Chevrolet Trax is lower, longer, and broader than the current model, which gives it a planted, sporty stance that fits nicely with the contemporary front fascia. Each of the five trim levels has its own unique styling cues to set it apart from other models in the lineup.
Although the all-new Trax is slightly larger than its predecessor, the standard powerplant is a highly modern small-displacement engine. The unit in question is a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo that develops a GM-estimated 137 horsepower and 162 lb.-ft. of torque, which gets sent to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.
There’s nothing retro or traditional about the 2024 Chevrolet Trax, inside or outside. The interior takes advantage of the extra width to deliver an airy look and feel to the interior. The “technology-forward design,” as Chevy refers to it, has display screens as its centrepiece. LS and 1RS versions of the all-new Trax get an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, while LT, 2RS, and ACTIV trims levels feature an 11.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment and an 8.0-inch-diagonal driver information center.
Every 2024 Chevrolet Trax has standard heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel is standard from the 1RS up. Automatic climate control, push-button start, and rear-seat USB ports are standard with LT, 2RS, and ACTIV trim levels. The top ACTIV trim also has standard leather upholstery and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.
The 2024 Chevrolet Trax is a sensational-looking small crossover that will turn heads in any environment, and it’s sure to be in significant demand.
