You won’t see a lot of SUVs around Weyburn, Estevan, Carlyle, Radville, and Regina that are bigger than the 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe, but there are one or two. If you balk at the size of the Tahoe’s bigger brother but still want an immensely capable SUV that can seat up to eight people, the 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe is ideal. The Tahoe has become increasingly stylish over the last few years, but there’s been no compromise to its capability, versatility, or flexibility.
There are six trim levels in the 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe lineup, or only two if you prefer a rear-wheel-drive version instead of an all-wheel-drive model. The range starts with the entry-level LS, and then we have the LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and range-topping High Country. Only the LS and LT trim levels are available in a standard rear-wheel-drive format, but all-wheel-drive is available for both and standard across the rest of the lineup.
It’s impressive to see how the exterior styling of the Tahoe has evolved recently. Plenty of old-school angular lines and the unapologetically boxy silhouette remain, but the overall aesthetic is undeniably contemporary. Squinty LED headlights sit proudly above and to either side of a tall, razor-sharp grille that comes in various shades of black or chrome, depending on your chosen model.
A vehicle as substantial as the 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe needs an appropriately potent engine under its hood, and the Tahoe offers three appropriately powerful but traditional engine options. The standard unit is a 5.3-litre gas V-8 that produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque, which gets to the rear or all four wheels through a 10-speed automatic that every model uses.
The second option is a 6.2-litre gas V-8 which this time provides the 2024 Tahoe with 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. The 6.2L is standard with the High Country and available for the RST, Z71, and Premier trim levels. The curveball is a 3.0-litre Duramax turbodiesel developing 277 horsepower and the same 460 lb.-ft. of torque as the 6.2-litre gas V-8. All models are available with the diesel, except the Z71.
A lot of inherent safety gets afforded to the occupants of the 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe through its sheer size, mass, and rugged construction. However, the latest Tahoe is also available with the latest driver-assistance technology. Automatic emergency braking, active lane control, parking sensors, Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist, an HD rear vision camera, blind-spot monitors, and a raft of airbags throughout the cabin are standard, and adaptive cruise control is available. The High Country version of the Tahoe is one of the latest Chevy models to offer Super Cruise, a limited hands-free driver-assistance system for pre-mapped highways.
Retail shoppers will almost certainly start at the LT trim level or higher to get the 10.2-inch diagonal Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium System with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility and the 12.0-inch diagonal colour Driver Information Centre.
There are many ways to configure a 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe to suit different applications and budgets. No version of this mighty SUV will disappoint, and it can even tow up to 3,810 kg when correctly specified. Experience the Tahoe’s immense capability with a test drive from Barber Motors at 1 Government Rd, Weyburn, Saskatchewan, or call us at (306) 842-6531 for more information, and we can arrange an appointment that fits your schedule.
