Unless the application you have in mind requires more than a light-duty pickup is designed to handle, the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited checks all the full-size boxes and then some. The Sierra 1500 has as much capability, flexibility, and versatility as you could want in a vehicle in this class but it can also rival luxury sedans when it comes to comfort, luxury, and tech. With a wide selection of trim levels, cabs, beds, engines, and available options, the 2022 Sierra 1500 Limited has got any job you have for it in Weyburn, Estevan, Carlyle, Radville, Regina, or anywhere else well and truly covered.
There are six versions of the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited in the current lineup, which start with the entry-level model that’s now called the Limited Pro and then go to the SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4, and finally to the absolutely sensational Denali. Buyers still get to choose from Regular Cab, Double Cab, and Crew Cab body styles and standard, short and long bed sizes, which is all before you even contemplate things such as drivetrains, transmissions, colours, interiors, wheels, engines, packages, and available options.
There are four superb engines for you to select from in the Sierra 1500 Limited family, and the really good news is the excellent 2.7-litre turbo-four is now the standard powerplant, even at the entry-level. The smallest Sierra 1500 engine still puts out a very healthy 310 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque, which is a lot of power and performance for the most affordable versions of the Chevy half-ton truck.
If that’s not enough for your needs, the next unit is a 5.3-litre V-8 producing 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque, and the next step up on the powerplant ladder is a 6.2-litre V-8 which then provides the 1500 with 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. Last but certainly not least, those of you who love a bit of diesel power is well provided for too, with an available 3.0-litre inline-six turbodiesel rated at 277 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. Diesel engine-equipped models can tow as much as those with the 6.2-litre gas-powered V-8, and chassis updates, as well as a larger rear differential, mean that maximum tow rating has now increased by 4,000 pounds to seriously capable 13,300 pounds.
Standard air conditioning has been upgraded to a climate-control system even in base models now, but you can pretty much have any feature you can think of in a new 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited. Top-of-the-line Denali models are rightly renowned for their style, opulence, and massive levels of standard equipment, but even these can be further enhanced if you like. For example, the Denali Reserve Package that used to be called Denali Ultimate adds upscale features such as power steps, a power sunroof, a rear camera mirror and adaptive cruise control to what anyone would consider to be an already stunning list of standard equipment.
Of course, there are also tons of features that concentrate on the practical rather than comfort and connectivity, such as the world-first six-function Multi-Pro Tailgate and the industry-first use of carbon-fibre composite in the pickup beds.
It’s probably a bit of a cliché to say the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited can be any truck you want it to be, but cliches like that generally become cliches because they’re true, and that’s certainly the case here. Whether you’re looking for a hardcore workhorse, a ridiculously capable office on wheels, or a weekend adventure vehicle, come and see what the Sierra 1500 Limited can do for you with a test drive from Barber Motors here at 1 Government Rd, Weyburn, SK.
