If you have a big family to get around but don’t want to go down the minivan route you can’t do better than the sensational 2022 Chevrolet Traverse. The Traverse delivers the stretch-out spaciousness of a full-size SUV along with handsome styling, impressive levels of standard equipment, and starting prices that are as attractive as the Traverse itself. And when properly equipped, the Traverse is even capable of towing up to 5,000 pounds.
One of the great strengths of the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse is it caters to a wide range of different buyers and budgets. The starting price for this consummately versatile crossover is extremely competitive for such an impressive and capable vehicle, but it can also be specified right up to a level that almost encroaches on the territory of genuine luxury rivals but without the luxury prices to go with it.
The first two trim levels in the 2022 lineup are the LS and LT which are standard front-wheel-drive models that can be upgraded to AWD if you wish. The third model in the current Traverse family and the first of the AWD-only trims is the RS, and then the range progresses to the True North, the Premier, and finally to the top-of-the-range High Country.
There’s no getting away from the fact the Traverse is a seriously sizeable vehicle designed to carry up to eight people and plenty of cargo, so a small-displacement turbo-four under the hood simply wouldn’t cut it. Chevy has therefore decided to stick with a tried-and-tested V-6 powerplant for the Traverse that’s more than up to the job at hand, and it definitely won’t throw the towel in when asked to cope with a full complement of passengers and cargo.
The 3.6-litre V-6 produces 310 horsepower and 266 lb.-ft. of torque which is then sent to the front or all four wheels through GM’s now-familiar nine-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission that features overdrive and Driver Shift Control for smooth, effortless automatic shifting.
With six different trim levels to choose from as well as an extensive list of optional features and packages, there really is a 2022 Chevrolet Traverse to suit most buyers. And although the entry-level Traverse LS is incredibly affordable for such a capable vehicle, there’s still no lack of standard features to get excited about.
LS models come standard with the likes of 18-inch alloys, 10 cup holders, 8-passenger seating, a rearview camera, tri-zone automatic climate control, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto compatibility. Range-topping High Country models come with upscale features such as adaptive cruise control, a premium Bose audio system, HD Surround Vision, heated and ventilated driver and passenger seats, a rear camera mirror and one of the finest infotainment systems GM has to offer.
You can spend getting on for twice as much on a top-of-the-range 2022 Chevrolet Traverse than it costs to buy the entry model, but even the range-topping High Country trim is many thousands of dollars cheaper to buy than a lot of luxury rivals with the same high levels of specification.
The Traverse isn’t just a great vehicle; it’s also a great deal at every level. Come and see for yourself with a test drive today here at Barber Motors located at 1 Government Rd, Weyburn, SK, or give us a call on (306) 842-6531 to book an appointment that fits in with your busy schedule.
