The standard gas powerplant is a 6.6-litre V-8 that develops 401 horsepower and 464 lb.-ft. of torque that comes mated to a six-speed, heavy-duty, electronically controlled automatic transmission, or an available Allison ten-speed automatic. The alternative engine is a 6.6-liter Duramax V-8 turbodiesel, which then puts 445 horsepower and 910 lb.-ft. of torque at the disposal of the 2022 Silverado 2500HD.
Rear-wheel-drive is the standard drivetrain format for the Silverado HD but most variants can be upgraded to four-wheel-drive if you want or need it. Whatever load or trailer you need to get up and down Red Coat Trail or the CanAm Highway, the Silverado 2500HD is more than up to the job.
